Landscape design
Landscape design consists of several steps, the most important one of is planning. Pertinent work plan saves time and money in the phase of turning design ideas into reality. Responsible approach to this process provides a rational expenditure of time and excludes troubles during the operation, as a result you will get a well made project.
Landscape design takes place side by side with such processes as landscaping and design of engineering systems (irrigation systems, drainage, lightening). These are invisible at first glance details that ensure the viability of the landscape, make it more visually appealing and help to design a planting area rationally.
Steps of landscape design:
- Analysis of the place. At this stage it is important to take into consideration the peculiarities of the relief, to find out whether you need to change it, to explore climate aspects, wind rose, structure and type of soil, ground waters, shading. According to these studies one can make a landscaping project, collect the plants, plan an irrigation system and drainage in the optimal way.
- Requirements review of the project. These include: the practical purpose of the site, the client's wishes, the financial costs. At this stage it is already possible to determine the direction of stylistic decisions, to formulate goals and objectives of the work.
- Technical design. It includes measurements of the site, making of large-scale plan, formatting on the plane of the buildings, plants, etc. If a backyard or a summer cottage are planned, entrance-ways and fenestration are marked on the plan. If necessary, we take pictures of the site.
- Draughting of the project. Graphical project is the basis of all further work. The sketch shows the composition, the division into functional areas, proportions, space planning and color scheme.
- Accurate and complete plotting on which landscape design will be executed. All drawings with marks of all systems and elements are produced: the master plan, layout drawings, drawing of a vertical layout, landscaping project (planting drawing and Dendrological plan), road system plan, irrigation and drainage plans, lighting plan.
